Yes! You Can Have A Washboard Stomach After Forty!

After having children and approaching mid-life, most women would be forgiven for wanting to hide their midriffs from the public eye, I know that is certainly the case with a lot of women I know.

But not Davina McCall who, at 50, proudly flaunts rippling abs and a six-pack, women half her age would be envious of.  The super-fit mum of three, who is currently training to be a qualified fitness instructor, owes her sculpted stomach to gruelling daily workouts combined with clean eating.  Boasting she is in the best shape of her life, the TV star’s amazing age-defying figure, is certainly an inspiration for many women but, alas, also beyond the capabilities – and the desire – of most of us.

A hectic lifestyle, food on the run, and a simple lack of time to commit to exercise often means that having a toned tummy is a distant dream, especially after the age of 40 when sculpting the body is incredibly hard to achieve.
As we age, our metabolism slows down, hormonal changes kick in and stomach fat, especially, gets harder to shift.  Skin also becomes thinner and looser, often the result of yo-yo weight-loss over the years, along with pregnancy and sun damage.

A recent survey found that nearly half of women hate their stomachs more than any other part of their body.  But don’t give up hope –as there are plenty of things you can do to trim, tone and tighten your middle. .

Getting fab abs isn’t about starving yourself or living at the gym. Reducing belly fat involves a mix of smart eating, effective exercise and lifestyle switches plus some hi-tech help at the clinic when all else fails.
